Hi, I’m Mia, a mother, an entrepreneur, and a creative soul at heart.

I’m here to share my passion for mindful living and how it can transform your life from the inside out.

My story is one of embracing intuition, following my passions and discovering the power of small, intentional choices.

As a mother of two adult children (Bella & Hugh) and a single parent for two decades, I have faced the challenges, fears, and triumphs that come with carving a path of independence and self-discovery.

From the moment I stepped into single motherhood two decades ago, I discovered that life’s greatest transformations often begin in unexpected places. Whilst building a new business and nurturing my family, I learned that strength isn’t just about perseverance – it’s about finding clarity in chaos and beauty in simplicity. Each challenge became a stepping stone toward creating a life filled with purpose and intention.

This understanding didn’t come overnight. It emerged through countless moments of challenge and triumph, through learning to pause and breathe when life felt overwhelming, and through discovering that even the smallest intentional changes could create profound shifts in our daily experience. A remarkable mentor introduced me to meditation and mindful breathing, tools that would become the foundation of not just my personal practice, but my entire approach to life and business.

From Single Mother to Interior Stylist and Mindfulness Facilitator

Twenty years ago, armed with nothing but determination and a vision of creating meaningful spaces, I launched my first interior styling company, Urban Style Lab. This wasn’t just about designing beautiful rooms – it was about crafting environments that could nurture well-being and foster connection. My approach was different: I believed that thoughtful design could be a catalyst for personal transformation.

The business grew, evolved, and eventually became one of several successful ventures I built and sold, each grounded in the principles of mindful living. But success in business was just one part of the journey. As my children grew into young adults, I witnessed how our shared commitment to intentional living shaped their worldview and resilience. Our home became more than a space – it was our launch pad for practicing presence, gratitude, and authentic connection.

From the beginning, I could visualise the future I wanted to create and never let go of that feeling. Although I didn’t fully understand it at the time, this vision guided me in everything I undertook.

My journey into mindfulness began intuitively. To be a present mother and build my creative endeavours, I knew our home needed to feel uncluttered, nurture our lifestyle, & allow room for growth creatively & emotionally. Being organised and styling our interiors purposefully allowed for our home to support our needs.

This personal evolution sparked a deeper calling. I began creating mindful experiences that could touch more lives, including writing children’s books like “Mindful Mimi and the Golden Key.” These stories emerged from my belief that mindfulness should be accessible to everyone, regardless of age or background. They reflect the simple yet profound lessons I’ve learned: that joy can be found in ordinary moments, that peace begins with presence, and that every one of us has the capacity to create positive change.

Recently, I deepened my commitment to sharing these transformative practices by becoming a certified mindfulness facilitator. This training enhanced my understanding of how mindful practices can be adapted for different individuals and situations, reinforcing my belief that mindfulness isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach – it’s a flexible, personal journey that each of us can shape to fit our lives.

Today, Mindful Spaces represents the culmination of these experiences and insights. It’s a platform born from real-life challenges and victories, designed to show that mindful living isn’t about achieving perfection – it’s about embracing the present moment with awareness and intention. Whether you’re a busy parent, a professional seeking balance, or someone simply curious about living more mindfully, this space is for you.

Through practical guidance, thoughtful design principles, and accessible mindfulness practices, I’m here to support your journey toward creating a life that feels both grounded and inspired. Because I believe that when we transform our inner landscape and outer environment with intention, we don’t just change our own lives – we create ripples that touch everyone around us.

Mindful Living,
Inside and Out

I decided to delve deeper. I met a remarkable woman who taught me the art of meditation and mindfulness.

And through simple habits like meditation and mindful breathing, I learned to navigate life’s challenges with grace and find joy in the present moment.

This newfound sense of peace and purpose fueled my entrepreneurial spirit and led me to explore various avenues, from event styling to designing a successful line of children’s bed linen.

My journey has been one of continuous learning and growth. Twenty years ago, fueled by a desire for a more fulfilling life that allowed me to be present for my children while nurturing my creative spirit, I took a leap of faith and launched my own interior styling company – with no formal design qualifications, just a passion for creating beautiful spaces.

That leap of faith paid off.

Over the years, I built and sold several successful businesses, always guided by the principles of mindfulness and intention.

Today, my children are young adults, forging their own paths with the same values of simplicity, presence, and gratitude that we’ve cultivated together.

This shared commitment to mindful living has been the cornerstone of our family’s happiness and success, both personally and professionally.

This passion extends far beyond my work in interior design. It’s a way of life —one I champion through curating mindful experiences that resonate deeply with others and through storytelling, creating children’s books like “Mindful Mimi and the Golden Key” to inspire and educate young readers about the transformative power of mindfulness.

After all, it’s these small seeds, sown early and nurtured with care, that have the power to blossom into a more mindful, compassionate, and joyful world.
